COUNSELLING

What can counselling do for you?

Counselling provides a guiding torch and helps broaden your understanding of situations. Simply put,  counselling helps you to manage stressful situations, overcome anxiety, deal with depression and other challenges, and help you feel empowered so that the best version of yourself that is present within you is brought out. Just like how we visit doctors for our physical health, we seek out good mental health.

Today, with celebs seeking aid for their mental health, it is no longer a stigma, often willingly emphasizing the need for emotional health. Counsellors help you to not just solve problems, but explore one's potential as well: after all, the behavior we display today has been learned over time, and negative aspects of our behavior can be unlearned. Dedicated counselling sessions can provide positive reinforcement to clients, especially since our current and childhood experiences keep giving us triggers that we can fearlessly tackle through counseling.

How does counselling help your daily life?

Counselling helps us understand our past experiences, unlearn the actions that lead to negative consequences, and offer us closure so that actions of the past do not cast a shadow over our future: after all, behaviour is learned, and can therefore be unlearned. It positively affects individuals by increasing productivity and effectiveness, resulting in more valuable, consistent outcomes in both the immediate and long term.

It fosters self-esteem, recognition, wholeness, peace and wisdom.  That aside, clients benefit from enhanced clarity in life situations, can assert themselves, and find better emotional balance.  It also guides clients towards cultivating positive behaviours, which foster positive responses, and help reaching personal goals for self-development.

“I used to spend all my time on social media – it was very difficult for me to put down the phone and led to lots of problems with my family. When my parents threatened to take my phone away from me,  it used to lead to big problems and fights at home, and it would be many days before we would speak to each other, and I would once again bury myself inside Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. I only realised how much it was affecting me when my friends stopped hanging out with me.  My parents understood that I needed help and we began our counselling sessions.  The problem was diagnosed in a matter of minutes, and  I finally began to come out of my social media addiction."
