About Me
Hello everyone!
I am Lakshmi Viswanathan, an art teacher and art therapist with over 20 years of practice across Oman and India.
Aside from teaching art as a hobby, enabling children’s creative palettes to burst forth, I have deep experience of creating diverse portfolios for students looking to pursue art as a career, guiding them to securing places at the Parsons School of Design, New York, Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, La Salle College of the Arts in Singapore, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Vancouver, and the University of Waterloo in Ontario, among many other prestigious institutions of higher learning around the world.
I first began teaching art many years ago, guiding both young children and seniors to let their latent creativity rise to the surface. As an art therapist, counsellor, coach and mentor accredited and qualified from the UK, and a Member of the International Alliance of Holistic Therapists, Associate Member, Institute of Counselling, UK, as times evolved, I got more and more involved in art and studied more about the confluence of art and psychology and the positive impact they have on all of us.
During our sessions, students are on a journey that deepens their understanding of art, as they explore more and more diverse forms of creativity. The content and structure of the classes make them hugely uplifting, encouraging creativity to burst forth and leaving the heart and mind joyful, alongside the positive knock-on effects that come in the form of building up a person’s confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills.
